Wednesday's song
Second Chance - .38 Special
Charting at #6 in 1988, I never was very keen on this song. Supposedly, it is the top ranking song by .38 Special, but it just doesn't seem to be the group's true sound to me. Still, charting at #6 isn't shabby, and I chose this song in honor of my niece, who is getting a second chance at love.
Enjoy!

I like .38 Special! Why can't rock be more like the 70's and 80's? Those were the days (coming from an early 80's child)

I think the 60s were the best decade ever for music - so much of that stuff still holds up. So much of it was important and had a message. The 70s were great too.

No doubt. But for actual rock and metal, the 70's and 80's are the best decades. Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, .38 Special, Zeppelin, Ozzy, etc.
I love the 60's generation also, don't get me wrong. The British Invasion, MoTown, Doo-Wop are have a place in my heart and is good, clean music with meaning and well written lyrics.

Good, clean music? I think that was the 50s. The 60s were about protest songs. The 60s were about meaning. And the 60s were absolutely about rock and roll.

I meant hard rock. And yes, I know the 60's was about rebellion, but compared to today's music... Gaga and her Disco Stick song... compared to that, it's clean and wholesome.

Some 60s acts off the top of my head: Led Zep, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, the Doors, the Who, Janis Joplin, CCR, the Byrds.
Some 70s acts off the top of my head: Donna Summer, the Bee Gees, KC and the Sunshine Band, ABBA.
Just saying!

Me, I dig the R&B side of the 60s and 70s. Motown, Philadelphia Soul, and more - great songs, oh so smooth!
